Project Citizen Workshop (Medford)

Project Citizen is a unique curriculum for upper elementary, middle, and high school students, designed to promote responsible participation in local and state government. Students work together to identify a public policy issue in their community and develop an action plan for local government leaders to use in addressing the issue.  The work culminates with a class portfolio that can be part of a state and national showcase.

Open to currently employed Oregon classroom teacher in grades 5-12.

Students should know their rights and responsibilities. These workshops provide a great way to help them learn. Other relevant upcoming workshops are:

All workshops include:

  • $100 stipend
  • Coffee and pastries; lunch
  • PDUs
  • All materials; classroom-ready lessons
  • Follow-up support

Is the location inconvenient? We can help! If traveling more than 150 miles round/trip:

  • Hotel reimbursement for one or two nights up to $140/night
  • Travel stipend $50 for 150-299 miles round trip; $100 if 300 or more miles
  • Sub reimbursement may be available
