Marilyn Cover

Tuesday, April 29, 2008, Classroom Law Project will present Marilyn R. Cover, Executive Director of the Classroom Law Project, with its Jonathan U. Newman Legal Citizen of the Year Award.

Each year, Classroom Law Project engages thousands of Oregon students and teachers, kindergarten through high school, in a wide range of legal and citizenship activities, teacher training and consultation, curriculum development, regional and statewide high school mock trial competitions, mock congressional hearings, courthouse tours, and  more.

These programs – emphasizing justice, personal responsibility and the role of the individual within a free society – help young people develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to become active citizens.
