Learn intriguing and timely content from conference favorite Professor Jim Foster, and strategies for integrating it into your classroom. This year’s Institute is all about offering the best strategies to engage students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions they need to be active citizens.

It will be four days jam-packed with learning. Political Science professor Jim Foster is back by popular demand, and back on his home turf. In his uniquely engaging style, Jim will connect the Constitution to current election and voting events. Jim will be joined by other fascinating guest speakers who will take selected cases hot from the U.S. Supreme Court and engage participants with the stories they tell. Content will be laced with interactive strategies to take back to the classroom.

This year’s Summer Institute will be at the hospitable and welcoming combined campus of Central Oregon Community College and Oregon State University-Cascades in the heart of Bend. Beginning at noon on Monday, July 9, and ending at noon Thursday, July 12, participants may come early or stay late to take in the plethora of activities Central Oregon has to offer.

Cost: $300 per teacher (includes a $50 non-refundable reservation charge).  Come with two or more teachers from your school and save $25 per teacher! Optional college credit is available.
